The Guru of Graphic Design: Coming to St. Paul, MN

Heller

Where would we be without Steven Heller? We’d be at least 100 books short on sometimes humorous, always accurate information about design and visual culture. Steve will be in St. Paul at the Minnesota History Center (thanks to the CVA Leaders of Design Series) signing his books and regaling us with design history, witticisms, and predictions for our technological future—7 PM on Thursday, November 1. Register now. And while you’re waiting for his visit, check out these appealing titles—New Vintage Type: Classic Fonts for the Digital Age and Stylepedia: A Guide to Graphic Design Mannerisms, Quirks, and Conceits—all found at hellerbooks.com.

  1. John DuFresne Says:

This wouldn’t be happening without the great support from Larsen. I’ve been in constant contact with Steven Heller, and I’d have to say he’s been impressed with the effort put forward by CVA and the event sponsors.

    Thanks, Larsen!

  2. Heather Olson Says:

    Thanks for the compliment, John!

Another partner in the 2007 CVA Leaders of Design Series that we should mention is the LOCAL seller of Steven Heller books…Garrison Keillor’s Common Good Books in St. Paul (conveniently across the street from the CVA Gallery at Selby and Western).

Find many design titles by searching for Steven Heller at commongoodbooks.com.

  3. Patrick Redmond, PatrickRedmondDesign.com, Past President ('79), MGDA, AIGA Minnesota Says:

Thanks to John, Heather, Tim, CVA, Larsen, and AIGA Minnesota, for bringing Steven Heller to Minnesota.

  4. Joshua Smith Says:

Gothamist published a interesting interview with Steve Heller today… http://gothamist.com/2007/10/22/steven_heller_c.php

About

What makes us tick? What piques our curiosity? What’s what? This idealog is where we communicate what interests and inspires the smart, creative people of Larsen. We’re always thinking. Sometimes, it’s about our work. More often, it’s about our world — which, hopefully, is your world, too.
